Indiana Underage Drinking Laws<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

You must be 21 years old to legally consume or purchase alcoholic\nbeverages in Indiana, and virtually all other states. If caught in possession\nof, under the influence of, or consuming alcoholic beverages as a minor adult,\nthe law has a set schedule on how you are to be penalized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although judges have the discretion to modify the ultimate\nsentence handed down for underage drinking as they see fit, the basic statute for\npossessing, consuming, or transporting alcohol as an underage adult is a Class C Misdemeanor<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Indiana, a Class C Misdemeanor is punishable by 0 to 60\ndays in jail, up to $500 in fines (\u00a7\n7.1-5-7-7<\/a>). Fines do not include court costs, filing fees, nor attorney\nfees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
